High-pressure pumps (often referred to as "fire pumps") can raise the water flow to a height of 50 m, which makes them indispensable to turn off fires and other work involving water to high heights. Before starting the work, the pump must be filled with clean water. After starting, the pump must be stopped after 30 seconds and clean water must be added to the pump to increase its productivity.
