Skylla-i charger 24/100(1+1) 230V - VICTRON
The Skylla-i (1+1) offers two isolated outputs to load two sets batteries. The first output delivers the full current while the second, limited to about 4 A and with a slightly lower voltage, is ideal for a starter battery.
The Skylla-i (3) has three insulated outputs, each capable of providing the full nominal current, allowing to load three sets batteries simultaneously.
These chargers are designed to withstand difficult conditions thanks to their epoxy powder-coated aluminium casings, stainless steel fittings and an anti-draining coupling. In addition, they are protected against corrosion through acrylic coating on electronic cards, and temperature probes ensure operation within the specified limits even under extreme conditions, automatically reducing current if necessary.
They offer great flexibility of use with a CAN bus interface (NMEA2000), a rotary switch, DIP switches and potentiometers to adjust the charging algorithm according to the specific battery and its operating conditions. It is advisable to consult the manual for a complete description of the features.
The parallel synchronization of the chargers is possible via the CAN Bus interface by connecting them with RJ45 UTP cables, for more details, see the manual.
For lead batteries, the load absorption time automatically adjusts according to the battery discharge level to avoid overload or ensure a full charge after a deep discharge. The BatterySafe mode prevents gas damage by limiting the voltage as soon as the gas threshold is reached.
The watch mode reduces the maintenance and aging of unused batteries, decreasing the float voltage after 24 hours of inactivity and increasing it weekly to prevent the stratification and sulfatation of the electrolyte.
Temperature compensation extends the life of the batteries, especially for sealed lead batteries and in high temperature fluctuations, by automatically adjusting the charge voltage with the battery temperature.
A battery voltage probe is included to compensate for voltage losses due to cable resistance, ensuring a correct load.
These chargers work with AC and DC power supplies, and can be used as a direct DC power supply thanks to their stabilized output voltage.
They are also compatible with lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO4), allowing simple control via a relai or an optocoupler output connected to the remote control port, or a complete control of the voltage and current via a galvanically isolated CAN bus port.
