HOW TO CHOOSE A HAND TRUCK

A hand truck is a manual tool for lifting and transporting loads on two wheels. Its principle is very simple: the load is placed on the flap, and with a simple push, you counterbalance the weight of the load, which is held against the fall arrest apron. You can then move it by simply maneuvering the handles.

You can easily move boxes, chairs, parcels, barrels, etc. It's advisable to use straps or elastic bands to secure the movement of objects.

How to choose your hand truck

There are two types of hand truck

Rigid handtrucks: adaptable to a wide range of needs, they are sturdy and robust.

Folding hand truck: The apron and flap fold away to save space - For occasional use, as it cannot carry heavy loads.

MATERIAL

Aluminum: Lightweight material for occasional use with loads under 200 kg

Stainless steel: suitable for humid, rust-resistant environments. Ideal for food processing, hygiene, laboratories, etc.

Steel: For intensive use - Ideal for frequently moving heavy objects and daily operations.

FLAP

The flap, which enables the load to be lifted, must be adapted to suit requirements

Fixed apron: For light loads, it can be used to move bulky loads such as boxes, crates, etc...

Foldable skirt: easy to store, with a larger surface area for greater load capacity.

Fixed and folding flap: The folding flap is wedged against the apron, providing two solutions in one: For moving both light and heavy loads.

DECK SHAPE

The carriage is the vertical part of the hand truck that supports the load.

Straight carriage: Most commonly used to move square or rectangular objects.

Curved carriage: for moving cylindrical objects such as drums and barrels.

WHEELS

Rubber wheels: for smooth floors and light loads

Pneumatic wheels: for uneven floors and heavy loads

Puncture-proof wheels: for demanding use

Star wheels: for easy ascent of stairs and sidewalks

HANDLES              

Closed handles: adapt hand position to each moment of handling             

Guarded handles: prevent crushing and slipping of hands

Picot handles: ergonomic and easy to grip.

SPECIFIC HANDTRUCKS

Bottle trolley: rigid, curved apron, fixed flap, equipped with a hooking system, for transporting bottles in complete safety.

Chair carrier: designed for storing and transporting chairs.

Drum holder: for transporting metal or plastic drums, with a hooking system to hold the drum during handling.

Panel carriers: Used to transport wood, glass or steel panels, they enable panels to be stacked on top of each other before being moved.
